SCARS ON BROADWAY: 'World Long Gone' Video Posted Online
September 9, 2008"World Long Gone", the new video from SCARS ON BROADWAY — the new band led by SYSTEM OF A DOWN guitarist Daron Malakian and drummer John Dolmayan — can be viewed below. The clip was helmed by the award-winning Joel Schumacher who directed major motion pictures including the Brat Pack classic "St. Elmo's Fire", as well as "The Lost Boys", John Grishman's "The Client" and "A Time to Kill", the cardiac thriller "Flatliners", and the controversial drama "Falling Down" starring Michael Douglas. The video was shot on August 19 at a desolate Southern California desert location, near Vasquez Rocks in Agua Dulce, where countless feature films and television series have been shot, including "Star Trek", "Planet of the Apes", "Twilight Zone", and "24". The video also has a cameo appearance by supermodel Jessica Miller.
SCARS ON BROADWAY's Malakian and Dolmayan have made their share of provocative videos with their multi-platinum, Grammy-winning band SYSTEM OF A DOWN, and the new SCARS video is no different. SCARS and Schumacher made the decision to eschew gimmicks, flashy wardrobes and facades for this video, instead choosing to illustrate the "simple man" and his feelings of disconnection. Through their web site, the band invited a dozen or so of their fans to be in the video as "travelers and drifters." By the video's conclusion, it is hoped that the audience will see the inevitable interconnection between us all through our lifestyles and life decisions.
